A horse killed LauraMae Babcock when it ran under a tree and a limb caught her and knocked her off, breaking her neck. A cousin of Laura Mae's, Harriet Nancy Babcock, came to take care of her two small children and later Harriet married Charles Alfred.
OBITUARY: CHARLES A. WILSON PASSES AWAY FORM EXTENDED ILLNESS
Due to an illness from when he had been suffering for some time, Charles Alfred Wilson, 73, widely known - Tehama county farmer, passed away last night at 10:30 o'clock at the family home, 1417 Second Street, where he had resided for the past ten years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Harriet Nancy Wilson and six children, Mrs. Lillie Cloud, Roy Wilson of Manton; W.H. Wilson of Redding; L.A. Wilson of Red Bluff; Mrs. Wilda Boyer of Sacramento and Mrs. Sylvia Oiler of Lookout. There arealso 16 grandchildren. The deceased was a native of Decatur, Illinois, but hadbeen a resident of California for 53 years. The funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Fickert Chapel. The Rev. George W. Morris, pastor of the Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
