Barney is a (black) Labrador Retriever, "adopted" at a pet fair held by Nike Animal Rescue Foundation (N.A.R.F.) on May 19, 1991.

Barney's "complete" name is "Sir Barnaby Morgan of Blossom Hill." (I made it up. It is supposed to sound "highfalutin." The pet fair was held at a pet store on Blossom Hill Road.)

Barney's "adjusted" birthdate is January 15, 1991. (The NARF volunteer and the veterinarian agreed that he was about four months old when "adopted," and I have historically selected the 15th of the month when I don't know the exact date of birth.)

Labs come in three colors: black, yellow and chocolate. "Black" and "Yellow" are very common, "Chocolate" is less common.

"Yellow" isn't exactly that; most people see varying shades of white with varying shades of brown, but it is officially called "yellow".

(Golden Retrievers also come in "yellow," but that is a completely separate breed.)

Barney enjoys visiting various off-leash dog parks in the area. (See "Dog Parks" link below.) We generally take a walk around the neighborhood a few times per week.

Here are a few links you might find interesting. I'm sorry if they're not all still there.
